A new Russia carrier Azimuth launched operations to Pulkovo Airport

Azimuth is a new Russia airline of the South of Russia, based in Rostov-on-Don. The airline’s fleet consists of modern Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft.

On 10 October 2017, Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport welcomed the first flight of a new Russian airline Azimuth. The carrier commenced scheduled service from St. Petersburg to Krasnodar and Rostov-on-Don. The flights from Pulkovo airport are operated daily on SSJ-100 aircraft.  

“Krasnodar and Rostov-on-Don are among the 10 top domestic destinations with the direct service from Pulkovo airport. For the first 9 months of 2017, the passenger traffic on the routes was 180,000 and 190,000 respectively. We are confident that that the new flights by Azimuth will be in high demand and the airline will gradually increase its presence at St. Petersburg  airport”, noted Evgeniy Ilyin, Chief Commercial Officer of Pulkovo Airport’s managing company Northern Capital Gateway LLC.

Aside from the new Azimuth flights, the scheduled service from St. Petersburg to Krasnodar is performed by Rossiya airlines and Red Wings, to Rostov-on-Don – by Pobeda and Rossiya airlines.

Pulkovo Airport provided services to 10.9 million passengers in the first 8 months of 2017, which represents a 24% increase compared with the same period in 2016
