Advantages of booking package holiday

From flights, baggage, and airport transfers to securing your accommodation and booking a hire car – your holiday admin can quickly mount up.

After what feels like an eternity stuck on UK soil, we couldn’t be happier to finally wave goodbye to tedious travel restrictions and enjoy embarking on stress-free holidays again.

But when it comes to the booking process, there can be countless steps to consider. From flights, baggage, and airport transfers to securing your accommodation and booking a hire car – your holiday admin can quickly mount up.

With this in mind, and with the summer holiday season just around the corner, we explore the benefits of booking a package holiday.

Protection
A huge advantage of booking a package holiday is that they’re almost always ATOL or ABTA protected. Each of these policies covers different aspects of your package holiday.

  • ATOL – this is a bonding scheme covering any flights you’ve booked. This protection ensures that if for any reason your flights get cancelled, you’ll be reimbursed for the costs you paid.
  • ABTA – this is a bonding scheme covering any travel provider you’ve used within your holiday booking. This protection ensures that if your travel provider goes into administration, you’ll receive a refund on the costs spent.

These protection schemes are always built into the price of your package holiday so that you can book with peace of mind that if anything beyond your control were to occur, you’ll get your money back.

Cost
When booking your holiday independently, the costs can quickly stack up. Accommodation always takes up the largest chunk, but there are also smaller fiddly fees that are often forgotten about. Baggage alone can be a further £50 on top of your flight costs – plus many airlines even charge a small fee for choosing your seat on the plane. As package holidays include everything in one bundle, it can often work out tonnes cheaper than alternative booking methods. You can also make the most of bonuses such as an NHS discount on your holiday, so you can travel for less.

Less admin
When you choose to book your holiday separately there suddenly becomes a mountain of admin to get through. Booking your flights alone can be a lengthy process by the time you’ve added on baggage and seating costs both ways. Then there are airport transfers to sort out – googling local taxi numbers in your destination and trying to get quotes to compare prices. Plus hire cars, and even groceries if you’ve opted for a self-catered apartment. With package holidays, everything is tied up in a neat bow, with the click of a button. Enjoy great flights, hotels, and all the extras in between without any of the hassle. With so many package holidays to choose from, simply browse online and find a deal that matches your travel requirements.
