Aeschylia Festival 2019 – Extraordinary nights in Attica, full of art and culture

For its anniversary edition, Aeschylia Festival 2019 has drawn up an exciting programme of cultural events, in view of the fact that culture is a way of life for Elefsina: concerts by great composers, singers and song-writers, spellbinding theatrical performances of ancient Greek drama, including major productions of the Athens and Epidaurus Festival.

This year, the Aeschylia Festival in Elefsina celebrates its 45th anniversary and invites all residents and visitors of Attica to enjoy a comprehensive programme that features cultural events of high quality and aesthetic value. From 25 August to 28 September 2019, Elefsina transforms into a cultural role model town and welcomes the audience at the wonderful Old Oil Mill venue, with the coast of Elefsina in the background, for extraordinary nights full of theatre, music and cinema.

Elefsina was and still is a cradle of culture, and Aeschylia Festival 2019 proves exactly that. One of the most long-lived festivals not only of Attica but of the whole country, Aeschylia has been awarded as one of the best Festivals in Europe, winning the EFFE (Europe for Festivals, Festivals for Europe) Label, initiated by the European Festival Association.
