As a result of the carrier’s 3,100-kilometre sector to the Moroccan city, Wizz Air will now offer 67 destinations from the Hungarian capital.
Having started the year with no direct services to Morocco, Budapest Airport will end 2017 with two cities from the North African country on its destination map, as Wizz Air seeks to begin flights to Agadir on 31 October. Previously only flown with charter services from the Hungarian gateway, the city located on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean will receive twice-weekly scheduled flights (Tuesdays and Saturdays), operated by the low-cost carrier’s 180-seat A320 fleet.
“We have already launched 14 new services this year ? the addition of Agadir this winter means we now also have 14 routes announced but yet to commence in W17/18 and beyond,” states Balazs Bogats, Head of Airline Development, Budapest Airport. “With operations to Marrakech already announced from this winter, I am delighted to witness further expansion in this new frontier of network development. It’s certainly a market where we see other opportunities for growth.”

In terms of capacity to the North African nation, Budapest will provide travellers with close to 1,500 two-way weekly seats, or a total of over 32,000 seats in W17/18. Agadir joins regular services to Algiers, Cairo, Hurghada and Marrakech offered to North Africa from the airport this year.
