airBaltic marks third anniversary of operations in Tallinn and Vilnius
October 31 marks the third anniversary since Latvian airline airBaltic opened its base at Tallinn and Vilnius Airports. Currently, airBaltic offers 11 direct routes from the two Baltic capitals. Since November 2014 airBaltic has carried more than 1 600 000 passengers from Tallinn and Vilnius combined. This year alone the volume of passengers carried in both cities has grown by 23 and 20 percent respectively.

Martin Gauss said: “We are happy that more and more customers from Lithuania and Estonia are choosing airBaltic as their home carrier. We offer the best connectivity in and out of Estonia and Lithuania, as airBaltic serves a combination of direct flights and convenient transfers via our main hub in Riga to Europe, Scandinavia, the Middle East and the CIS. Notably, throughout these years 44% of the bookings to Vilnius and Tallinn have been made from other countries. airBaltic has provided businesses and travellers from across the world access to the two Baltic countries, resulting in a significant catalytic impact on the local economies,” Gauss added.

This year, from both Tallinn and Vilnius, the most popular direct service has been to Amsterdam, seeing increased traffic in both Baltic capitals.
