Angie Hospitality acquires Roxy

Creator of hospitality’s award-winning guest room virtual assistant completes acquisition of leading competitor.

SAN JOSE, CALIF. – Angie Hospitality, developer of the industry's first 24-hour interactive guest room assistant purpose-built for the hotel environment, has completed its purchase of the assets of Roxy, a competing provider of speech-enabled virtual assistant technology for the hospitality industry. As part of the agreement, Angie Hospitality will assume management and support of all existing Roxy installations and customers worldwide. In an email to customers, Angie committed to a seamless experience for all current Roxy clients and to continuing to provide the latest advances in voice-enabled guest room assistant technology.

"Both Roxy and Angie Hospitality have shared a founding principle of providing hoteliers with innovative solutions needed to keep pace with the rapid technological advancements taking place in consumers' homes, but taking it even further by tailoring experiences that meet the unique needs of the hotel environment," says Ted Helvey, CEO of Angie Hospitality. "We are very honored to now have the opportunity to work together with Roxy customers in building upon this mission, and in continuing to ensure that hotel guests encounter only the very best when it comes to enhanced convenience and service personalization needs. The best part about this acquisition is that nothing changes for current Roxy customers. Properties equipped with Roxy devices can rest assured that they can rely on the full resources and expertise of Angie Hospitality during this transition."

Under Angie's ownership, hotels with Roxy installations can continue using the same hardware and software. In addition to current capabilities, the Angie team looks forward to putting its extensive resources and integrations behind Roxy so that hotel staff and guests have a positive experience that only gets better.

"We are very happy that Roxy has found a new home with Angie and a team that is prepared to service and support our customers as well as continuing to build the Roxy technology we've created," says Cam Urban, former CEO of Roxy. "Angie shares Roxy's vision of developing purpose-built voice solutions for hotels, and we believe they will be a great organization to continue developing the Roxy product in a positive direction."

Designed specifically for the hospitality environment, Angie is recognized as a comprehensive solution built to streamline hotel operations, improve staff efficiencies and maximize revenue opportunities. Angie's flexible, modular platform allows it to serve as a complete stand-alone system or, through seamless integration with leading hotel technology system providers, the solution offers a variety of configurations to replace the guest room telephone, and include room automation features, energy management and more. In addition to its Wi-Fi, touch screen and natural voice recognition capabilities, Angie also allows guests to play their own music through built-in Bluetooth speakers, make hands-free calls, access hotel amenities and information and charge devices. Based on an enterprise-class, cloud-managed platform with secure, scalable and highly-available architecture that is continuously monitored in the Cloud, Angie has the ability to self-configure for each property and room as soon as the device is plugged in.
