The online scorecard developed by Anvil’s risk management experts, and believed to be the first of its kind, allows organisations to benchmark the effectiveness of their existing travel risk management programme against seven key areas highlighted as critical by the standard.

Global travel and operational risk firm Anvil Group has announced the launch of an in-depth online scorecard to help organisations benchmark their existing travel risk management programmes against ISO 31030.

ISO 31030, the international standard for Travel Risk Management, provides guidance on how to manage the risks to organisations and their travellers, and sets out a structured approach to the development, implementation, evaluation and review of travel risk management policies and programmes, and the assessment and treatment of travel risks.

The online scorecard developed by Anvil’s risk management experts, and believed to be the first of its kind, allows organisations to benchmark the effectiveness of their existing travel risk management programme against seven key areas highlighted as critical by the standard. These include:

  • Understanding their organisation’s risk context
  • Managing their travel risk effectively
  • How prepared they are to deal with major incidents
  • The effectiveness of specialist support they may be reliant upon
  • How engaged internal stakeholders and travellers are with their programme

On completion of the scorecard, responders will receive an instant personalised report containing an overall score and a breakdown of their score against key areas of ISO 31030.

The results provided will serve as a high-level indicator as to how well their organisation is performing against the standard and will help to highlight any shortfalls in their policies and programmes.

Matthew Judge, Group Managing Director, Anvil Group: “One of the aims of ISO 31030 is to promote a culture where travel-related risk is taken seriously, resourced adequately, and managed effectively. The internationally recognised standard establishes clear guidelines for assessing risks related to travel, removes the guesswork, and provides clarity in an area that’s never been more critical for organisations and their travellers.”

He continues: “For organisations to become truly resilient, their travel risk management programmes require continual review and enhancement – and ISO 31030 provides a great framework for that purpose. Our in-depth online scorecard will help organisations to measure their travel risk management programmes against the standard, identify where improvements need to be made, and will also help to guide further development and improvement of their broader risk management policies and procedures.”
