Aparium Hotel Group officially reopens the #1 hotel in the south

Rooted in southern hospitality, Hu. Hotel relaunches with two exciting new F&B concepts: Hu. Roof and Lucy’s.

MEMPHIS, TENN. – The soulful city of Memphis welcomed back its coveted hot spot for both locals and visitors alike, the Hu. Hotel on August 19. Standing gracefully on the banks of the mighty Mississippi River with unbeatable rooftop views of the city skyline, the refreshed 110-room hotel that is part of the Aparium Hotel Group portfolio reopened its doors with two newly revitalized F&B concepts that speak directly to the city’s culture featuring great music, food, art and plenty of Southern hospitality.

Led by Aparium’s Culinary Director and talented Apparatus Room Chef, Thomas Lents, the menu at the Hu. Hotel evokes the spirit of Memphis, playing on the city’s vibrant culture and attributes. Hu. Roof, a top-of-market rooftop bar, serves up eclectic yet classic, frozen and tropical cocktails alongside globally-inspired shared plates. The all-day snack menu features house-made chips and dips as well as full-plates like the Tennessee Farm Lamb Meatballs and Brown Sugar Salmon Slider. The revamped cocktail menu features new additions along with some of the hotel’s familiar signature cocktails like The Golden Horseshoe, named for the elite boxed seat area in the famous Lyceum Theater built by Hu Brinkley (the hotel’s namesake), which boasts notes of exotic passionfruit and spice, anchored by Sailor Jerry’s rum.

The Hu. Roof, adorned with a custom mural by Memphis-based artist Brandon Marshall (@nosey42), boasts a revitalized terrace featuring fresh new contemporary furnishings in muted tones with pops of color that lend the space an air of playfulness. Situated on the 17th floor of the hotel, Hu. Roof invites visitors to experience breathtaking views of the Mighty Mississippi and the Hernando DeSoto Bridge. As the only all-season rooftop in Memphis, it’s the perfect place to grab a hand-crafted signature cocktail and relax on the 1,000 square foot oasis offering indoor and outdoor seating. Hu. Roof launches with a week-long line-up of live music featuring daily performances by local DJs and bands including Cruisin’ Heavy, whose female powerhouse vocalist appeared on “The Voice”. Also, starting August 28, replace Sunday Scaries with a series of Sunday Fundays celebrating weekend vibes with bottomless mimosas, frosé all day and bloody mary popsicles. Whether you are looking for the perfect sunset “golden hour” spot or the ultimate boozy brunch, Hu. Roof is the place to be.

Lucy’s is Hu. Hotel’s “come as you are” all-day café experience serving as a community gathering place. In addition to serving coffee from Frothy Monkey, the casual and upbeat café restaurant features curated wines by the glass, classic cocktails, baked goods and a full breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. The menu boasts a mix of classics and Southern comfort favorites making Lucy’s a destination for hotel guests and hungry locals alike. Lucy’s delightful breakfast menu features items like the Orange Ricotta toast or Grilled Peach and Blackberry Parfait. For dinner, guests can expect to indulge in hearty flavors with choices like the Lucy Burger or the Country Ham Plate followed by a decadent dessert such as the House-made Chocolate Cream Tart. Lucy’s will also host regular classic cocktail happy hours and guests can also expect to see collaborations with local distilleries and breweries such as Old Dominick and Wiseacre.

Saturday, August 21 saw Lucy’s host its inaugural “Lucy’s Dessert Bar,” a new pop-up series that will invite customers to connect with local purveyors and try locally-sourced and locally-made products in a relaxed atmosphere. Each event will see local vendors such as MEMPops, Muddy's, Ginger's Bread & Co. and The Whimsy Cookie Company, serving up heavenly desserts paired with a curated selection of wines and cocktails. The very first event featured an offering of sweet delights from MEMPops and Muddy’s Bakeshop and a Frothy Monkey Coffee Martini Bar, and details of future events will be listed on the hotel’s website.
