NEW YORK – Luxury river cruise lines Aqua Expeditions announced this week a partnership with Passport Online, Inc. which reaches thousands of travel agencies and their customers.

The 16-suite Aria Amazon sails along Peru's Amazon River, the 20-suite Aqua Mekong sails along the Mekong River between Vietnam and Cambodia; each ship is intimate, ultra-luxurious, and contemporary in design and offers a program of lectures and guides by on-board naturalists and historians. The Aqua Mekong features cuisine by master-chef David Thompson and the Aria Amazon by Pedro Schiaffino.
The newly launched partnership between Aqua Expeditions and Passport Online allows the river cruise operator to expand its network and become a part of the dynamic electronic-marketing opportunities afforded to Passport Online's travel agency customers and their consumers. The nearly six million unique customers a month who browse their personal travel professional's website through Passport Online, can now learn more about Aqua Expeditions' immersive, ultra-luxe itineraries directly through the web portal, with each call-to-action directed back to the travel professional.

New this season, Aqua Expeditions is offering exclusive cruises aboard the Aria Amazon led by conservationist Jean-Michel Cousteau, son of the famed explorer Jacques Cousteau. In October, guests can join Cousteau for bike and kayak jungle excursions to spot wildlife and hear the legendary conservationist share stories from his many journeys. During evening talks, guests will discover the Amazon from the unique perspective of Cousteau as they learn about preserving wildlife habitats, delicate ecosystems, evolving cultural traditions and economic pressures which threaten the environment.

In September and October of this year, Chef Pedro Miguel Schiaffino, consulting chef on the Aria Amazon, invites gastronomes to explore the flavors of the Amazon with him. Schiaffino is the chef and owner of Malabar and AmaZ-two of Lima's most cutting-edge restaurants; both restaurants were chosen among Latin America's 50 Best Restaurants in 2017. During the Pedro Miguel Schiaffino-hosted departures, guests will experience the Amazon through Chef Schiaffino's eyes, traveling together to the local markets to learn about locally grown and harvested ingredients that are essential to creating his signature dishes on-board, such as the Coconut Tapioca with Mango Sorbet and Causa with Shrimp Escabeche and will even have an opportunity to take cooking classes with Chef Pedro Miguel Schiaffino himself.

This fall, Aqua Expeditions is also offering departures hosted by founder and CEO Francesco Galli Zugaro. Aboard the Aqua Mekong and Aria Amazon, guests will travel alongside Zugaro exploring his favorite sights and excursions and will have an opportunity to learn about how the award-winning Aqua Expeditions came to be. Guests can kayak with him on the gentle flows of the Amazon to spot indigenous wildlife, or join him on a biking adventure through the streets along the Mekong.
