While the pandemic’s impact on the airline industry has been nothing short of catastrophic, there is one silver lining – this crisis was a catalyst for broad industry collaboration.
ATPCO released a white paper titled, “Solving industry problems by focusing on the traveler.” The paper highlights several key learnings from the pandemic from the perspective of some of the world’s biggest sales channels, such as Google, Sabre, Expedia, Skyscanner and more. Among the learnings is the need to develop new policies to ensure the industry is ready for the next crisis, and a call for all parties in the travel ecosystem to not wait for the next crisis as a reason to collaborate. It also touches on the customer angst and industry confusion that occurred when the pandemic began.
