Routes Americas 2021 opened, reuniting the air service development community from across the Americas to redefine the region’s air connectivity following the impact of COVID-19.

Providing an essential platform for airlines, airports, tourism authorities, and other aviation stakeholders to collaborate both in-person and virtually, the hybrid event will be critical in restoring and reshaping the region’s air services following the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year’s conference will be attended by senior decision-makers from more than 65 regional and international airlines, including Air Canada, American Airlines, Breeze Airways, Delta Air Lines, GOL Linhas Aereas Inteligentes, Lufthansa Group, LATAM, Southwest Airlines, and United Airlines. Joining them in attendance are delegates from a broad network of airports from across the continent and beyond, including Bogota – El Dorado International Airport, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, Denver International Airport, Greater Toronto Airports Authority, Miami International Airport, RIOgaleão – Rio de Janeiro International Airport and VINCI Airports

During a two-day conference programme as part of the event, delegates will see talks from airline CEOs and association leaders, including IATA’s Regional Vice President for the Americas, Peter Cerdá; Barry Biffle, President & CEO of Frontier Airlines; Spirit Airlines’ President & CEO, Ted Christie; Roger Dow, President & CEO at the U.S. Travel Association, where they will provide exclusive updates on their organisation’s recovery strategy and share insight into how they’ve future-proofed their business to help create a stronger, more resilient industry in the long-term.

Steven Small, Director of Events at Routes, said: "Routes Americas is the only air service development forum dedicated to uniting the entire Americas region, and therefore consistently acts as the most important event in the calendar for many aviation and tourism professionals across the continent. Following more than a year of restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, collaboration and cooperation are more important for our community than ever before, and we look forward to welcoming all delegates to the event."

Bringing together the region’s air service development community for the first time since February 2020, Routes Americas 2021 offers an extensive programme of face-to-face and virtual meetings, leading industry insight, and networking opportunities, providing attendees with the means to meet key targets and remain informed about new developments across the industry.
