Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts announces its new Cayo Levantado Resort Project

In the upcoming years, the company will take concrete steps towards a solidified positioning and competitive edge by launching pioneering global projects and increasing digitalization across business units.

MIAMI, FL – Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts, a leading all-inclusive hotel brand with properties in Mexico, the Caribbean, and Spain, announced its 2022-2025 strategic plan which advances its latest projects and business developments. The plan reinforces the hotelier’s ongoing goal of creating captivating experiences while solidifying its presence in the Caribbean. Sustainability remains a central axis, alongside continued growth and innovation as key pillars of the brand.

Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts maintains its objective of becoming a benchmark for sustainable development by incorporating environmental, social, and good governance (ESG) practices within all decisions and projects.

In the upcoming years, the company will take concrete steps towards a solidified positioning and competitive edge by launching pioneering global projects and increasing digitalization across business units.

Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts will evolve its business model throughout 2022 towards an accelerated asset-light strategy. As a result, the brand will expand into new business lines and achieve new goals – both in terms of brand and geographic scope, without losing its all-inclusive vacation identity.

Another breakthrough this year will be the launch of the Cayo Levantado Resort Project during the last quarter of 2022. Located on a private island of Samaná Bay, this completely rebranded, and extensively renovated property will invite guests to discover the uncharted syncopations of the Dominican Republic through its A Rhythm All Its Own concept. “We want to position the Cayo Levantado Resort Project as an important benchmark in the Dominican Republic, a reference of sorts, which will allow us to initiate the asset-light business model and showcase our ability to successfully undertake such an ambitious project," said Antonio Teijeiro, COO of Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts. “This major milestone also demonstrates Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts' commitment to improving its offers, adding value to the tourism sector, and contributing to the development of the country and the local community.”

Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts has sealed an alliance between the Cayo Levantado Resort and Forbes Travel Guide to prove its commitment to its guests’ experience. The world-leading guidelines for hotels and resorts provide recommendations to sustain luxurious status while maintaining an exceptional service through health and hygiene, communication, social distancing, food presentation, and touchless/limited-contact services and protocols.

The resort’s individuality emanates from three pillars, which inspired the Rhythm All Its Own concept:

  • Environment: The brand will aim to establish a benchmark as the leading self-sufficient resort, focusing on renewable energy and a robust waste management strategy, in addition to opting for native gardening and landscaping.
  • Local Culture The magnitude of the project is laid upon the participation and incorporation of the local host community, rich with Dominican representation. The project seeks to collaborate with local designers, interior decorators, and architects – ultimately contributing to both the economic development of the area and the integration of its distinctive culture and community.
  • Wellness: As a novel concept with its own personality, the Cayo Levantado resort will incorporate top-tier wellness practices and concepts into every category of the resort’s offerings, including gastronomy, relaxation and outdoor activities.
