Battleface announces new partnership with Spinnaker Insurance Company

Partnership will enhance the company’s U.S. product development and growth in custom-built products and services for partners.

COLUMBUS, OHIO – Battleface Inc., a rapidly growing tech-enabled company focused on providing innovative and relevant insurance products for travelers worldwide, announced a new partnership with Spinnaker Insurance Company, a leading fronting carrier, wholly owned by Hippo Enterprises, the homeowners insurtech group. The partnership will give battleface the flexibility required when designing products for B2B2C markets, with a range of modular benefits and services that are best suited for customizing products to fit travelers' needs.

Lisa Conway, battleface’s newly appointed Chief Underwriting Officer said: “Led by a global team of travel insurance experts, battleface combines innovative technology and modular underwriting to create, distribute and service customized travel insurance products. With the ever-changing global travel requirements and customer’s needs, we believe there’s a growing need for an alternative custom-based approach when designing travel insurance products and services. Spinnaker’s technology expertise, comprehensive filings, and broad flexibility will add to our value proposition for our partners and their customers.”

“Within the travel industry, battleface brings an innovative approach to its custom insurance solutions that proactively protect and serve the needs of today’s travelers,” said Dave Ingrey, CEO, Spinnaker. “We’re excited to work with the battleface team to strengthen and scale their custom-built products and services with our tech-friendly innovative fronting carrier solutions.”

Greenlight Re, battleface’ Seed Round lead investor, will provide reinsurance support behind battleface’ products. In late 2020, battleface closed on its Series A financing round with Columbus, Ohio based Drive Capital. This investment is being used to fund growth and market expansion and establish battleface’s global headquarters in Columbus’ burgeoning tech hub.
