Beaches as a resource in Greece – Estimate of use and socio-economic contribution by hotels

The study “Beaches as a resource in Greece – Estimate of use and socio-economic contribution by hotels” contributes to examining the role of hotels on the basis of the triple sustainability criterion: environment – society – economy.

The SETE Intelligence's study quantifies the use of the resource “coastline” by hotels and compares it with their contribution to the economy and to the society. Specifically, the study measures a) the length of the coastline in front of hotels located on sites bordering the beach and b) the economic significance of the hotel sector and the employment it offers.

Therefore, the study contributes to examining the role of hotels on the basis of the triple sustainability criterion: environment – society – economy.
