THE WOODLANDS (HOUSTON), TEXAS – Benchmark , a global hospitality company, has named Jerry Bindel general manager for Forest Suites Resort at Heavenly Village, located in South Lake Tahoe, California. Greg Champion, Benchmark’s president and COO, made the announcement.
“It is with great pleasure that I welcome Jerry to Benchmark and to our resort,” said Mr. Champion. “He brings important local and regional market awareness and business connections to his new role, and a strong background of success in leading hotels and resorts.”
Jerry Bindel was previously general manager of the Aston Lakeland Village Resort of South Lake Tahoe. He has held general manager positions for the Doubletree Naniloa Hotel in Hilo, Hawaii; the Hilton Garden Inn of Kapaa, Kauai; and the Aston Montelago Village Resort, located in Lake Las Vegas, Nevada
Mr. Bindel is a graduate of Cornell University School of Hotel Administration where he majored in resort and condominium management. He is chairman of the South Lake Tahoe Tourism Improvement District and serves as co-chair of the board for the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority. He resides in South Lake Tahoe with his family.
Benchmark also has named Robin Hess controller of Marenas Beach Resort, a Gemstone Collection property located in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, just north of Miami. Rikki Boparai, vice president operations, made the announcement.

"Not only does she bring vast experience in hotel finance to our property, she has important knowledge and insights into our local, regional and national markets. Robin Hess previously held the position of controller for Sole On The Ocean Resort, located in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida. Prior to this she served as chief financial officer and partner for MNM Ironworks of Davies, Florida. Ms. Hess has also held controller positions for the Raleigh Hotel, Florida Hotel Company of South Beach and the Grand Bay Club of Key Biscayne.
Ms. Hess is a graduate of Franklin University, located in Columbus, Ohio, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. She resides in Sunrise, Florida.
