Peter Harbison, CAPA Executive Chairman.

The CAPA Global ATC Summit is a new event for 2018 and will provide an opportunity for ANSPs, airport and aircraft operators, system suppliers and regulators to discuss best practices for the sustainable growth and modernisation of air navigation systems.

DUBAI, UAE – CAPA – Centre for Aviation has renewed its partnership with Reed Exhibitions Middle East to deliver leadership summits geared towards the airport and ANSP sector at the 2018 Dubai Airport Show. Executives and decision makers from leading airport and ANSPs, alongside international aviation experts, will converge in Dubai for two high level forums dedicated to airports and ANSPs, the CAPA Global Airport Leaders Forum (GALF) on 07-May-2018 and CAPA Global ATC Summit on 08-May-2018.

Co-located with the Dubai Airport Show 2018, the world’s largest gathering of airport exhibitors, the two conferences will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center, providing attendees with the opportunity to network and share key insights on strategic industry issues.

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, both summits will be hosted by Reed Exhibitions Middle East and organised by CAPA.

GALF is now in its sixth year and will bring together airport and aviation leaders from around the world to address strategic challenges and opportunities facing airport operators, regulators and airport industry suppliers. Key issues include the ‘smart’ airport response to IT and automation challenges, opportunities in airport retailing, airline-airport partnerships, airport privatisation and infrastructure financing, the future of robotics and the rise of the aerotropolis.

The CAPA Global ATC Summit is a new event for 2018 and will provide an opportunity for ANSPs, airport and aircraft operators, system suppliers and regulators to discuss best practices for the sustainable growth and modernisation of air navigation systems, with a particular focus on the opportunities and challenges of the fast-growing Middle East region. Among the topics to be discussed are CAPA’s global traffic forecast, the SESAR Joint Undertaking, digitisation, remote towers and harmonisation, funding and privatisation, the use of drones in commercial airspace, satellite based ADS-B and the future role of the ATCO in an era of increasing automation.

Peter Harbison, CAPA Executive Chairman said: “We are delighted to be continuing our partnership with Reed Exhibitions Middle East to deliver best in class industry forums as part of the Dubai Airport Show in 2018. GALF is widely regarded as the region’s pre-eminent conference for airport leaders to share knowledge, forge partnership and collaborate on areas of strategic common interest, adding value to the overall Airport Show experience”.

“We are also excited to be launching the inaugural CAPA Global ATC Forum at the Dubai Airport Show, which will serve as an important platform for stakeholders to discuss strategies for modernising our airspace at a time of high growth, as well as the opportunities and implications of increased digitisation for global air navigation systems,” Mr Harbison said.

"This year we have a very strong list of global speakers, addressing the burning issues for airports and air navigation service providers,” Mr Harbison added.

CAPA has become a highly influential aviation group, with its platforms helping the aviation sector and leading supplier businesses to stay informed, remain closely connected to industry leaders, be inspired to drive change and partake in industry evolution. CAPA attracts more than 300 executive level speakers and attendees at each of its global events held in key aviation markets around the world and reaches more than 350,000 unique website visitors each month.
