Champlin’s Marina & Resort announces the appointment of Elizabeth Connor to General Manager

Elizabeth Connor will lead the Champlin’s team overseeing all resort and marina operations on Block Island.

BLOCK ISLAND, RI – Champlin’s Marina & Resort – an iconic 42-room resort style property with one of New England’s largest marinas – announce the appointment of seasoned hospitality professional Elizabeth Connor to the role of General Manager. Connor will lead the Champlin’s team overseeing all resort and marina operations on Block Island and will bring her extensive local knowledge and hospitality expertise to lead in delivering the authentic Block Island experience for guests and locals alike as Champlin’s prepares to kick off its first season as a destination event venue.

On her appointment, Connor commented, “I am so excited to join the Champlin’s team and look forward to welcoming guests back to this historic marina and hotel this summer. As a long-time Block Island resident, I am eager to contribute to another season of memorable and authentic experiences for our community here at Champlin’s Marina & Resort.”

As an active member of the year-round Block Island Community since 1990, Connor brings over three decades of hospitality experience to her new role at Champlin’s. Prior to this, Connor spent 31 years at Block Island Resorts, starting at an entry level position and working her way up to General Manager, where she was responsible for the operational and financial aspects for the property. Additionally, Connor developed and implemented business plans and executed sales and marketing activities to maintain high occupancy at Block Island Resorts. Throughout her time on Block Island, Connor has served her community by sitting on the chair of the Zoning Board of Review and was elected to two terms on the School Committee. Connor also spent time on the EMT rescue squad and continues to provide financial consulting services to local Block Island non-profits.

Champlin’s Marina & Resort has delivered memorable experienced for guests and locals for more than 70 years. Starting this year, Champlin’s will now offer guests the opportunity to host their milestone parties and major events at the nine-acre Block Island Resort. Champlin’s will open on May 13 for the 2022 season.
