City Sightseeing Worldwide and Livn announced a new and exciting global technology and distribution partnership at the benchmark Arival tours and activities event in Las Vegas.
This partnership will enable travel agents and other resellers to issue mobile tickets for City Sightseeing’s open-top double-decker bus tours in more than 100 locations across six continents.
The integration via the Livn API eliminates the need for travel resellers to issue paper vouchers to consumers who will instead have the confirmed booking and unique code sent directly to their mobile phone – saving time and eliminating waste.
When a customer arrives at the booked activity, the operator will simply scan the code on their phone to validate their pre-booked ticket.
Oliver Nicholls, Director of Global Distribution & Commercial Partnerships, City Sightseeing Worldwide, said the Livn partnership positively expanded its distribution reach.
“City Sightseeing Worldwide is very pleased to announce the exclusive partnership with Livn, which will allow us to position our global brand through new distribution channels and reach the agent in a digital way,” Mr Nicholls said.
“It’s a crucial strategic alliance for our business.”
Steve Martinez, Founder of Livn, said the digital and distribution partnership with City Sightseeing Worldwide was a sign of the times as the tours and activities sector slowly moves online and away from paper-based ticketing.
“City Sightseeing is a fantastic product and we’re proud to have them on our platform – it’s going to be so much easier for travel agents to sell their product while there are also enormous benefits for users.”
