City Sightseeing Worldwide announces its next destination – Kingdom of Bahrain

The Minister of Culture (in charge of Tourism) of Bahrain and the President and CEO of City Sightseeing estimate as opening date March 2015.

SEVILLA - The Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Her Excellency Sheikha Mai bint Mohammad Al Khalifa, and the President and CEO of City Sightseeing Worldwide, Enrique Ybarra Valdenebro, announced the launch of a new operation of the leading open top bus tour company. City Sightseeing Bahrain, which will become the city number 108 of the company’s international network, will be a new tourist destination of the renowned brand in the Middle East.

The launch of City Sightseeing Bahrain is forecasted to March 2015, when the iconic open top double decker buses will tour the main landmarks of Bahrain to ensure an unforgettable sightseeing experience along this country of contrast.

Bahrain is a destination of cultural interest, with UNESCO World Heritage sites such as the Site of Bahrain Fort, together with outstanding places such as the Bahrain National Theatre, Bab al Bahrain, Bahrain National Museum, Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Al-Fateh Fort, historical district of Muharraq, Suq al Qaisariya, Tree of life, Bait al Quran… Bahrain is also a vibrant commercial city and home of the annual Formula 1 Grand Prix at the Bahrain International Circuit.

Sheikha Mai bint Mohammad Al Khalifa said: “Within the boost of the Bahrain tourism industry, partnering with a recognized and prestigious brand such as City Sightseeing will allow us to show travellers the many heritage sites of our country and help us with international promotion.”

Enrique Ybarra added: “For City Sightseeing, it is very important to expand our presence in such an interesting region as the Middle East. Bahrain allows us to extend our portfolio of World Heritage sites, culture, business tourism and shopping, as well as exposing the global brand in an emerging tourist market.”
