Shedir Collection paves the way for a new Italian luxury hospitality concept.

Shedir Collection, a recently launched luxury hotel group in Italy specialising in management and development in the luxury and niche hospitality, announced the appointment of Claudio Ceccherelli as CEO and the update on their expansion plan.

After 19 years with at Hyatt holding the position of GM at Park Hyatt Milano, Hotel Martinez Cannes and Park Hyatt Paris Vendome, Claudio Ceccherelli is back to Italy to lead and develop Shedir Collection further and focus on what is the mission of the hospitality group: blending the boundaries between hospitality, intimacy, and authenticity. Ceccherelli explains: “Our portfolio includes already the iconic Capri Tiberio Palace, two properties in Rome (Vilòn and the recently opened Maalot) and we plan to open in the next few months two additional hotels in the Eternal City.

Palazzo Umiltà – Your contemporary retro design home in Rome
Expected to open in April 2022, and set in the heart of Rome, the hotel will feature 29 guest rooms and 17 suites inspired by luxurious residences of the 50s with an accent on architecture and design. Monumental marble staircase and opulent wide wooden doors compass the modern motives rooms and public spaces. Architecture and design curated by Caberlon Caroppi will stand out for the atmosphere, enhanced with elegant tones of blue and graceful high ceilings.  The property will also have an outstanding rooftop overlooking The Vittoriano, the Altar of Italy and at the ground floor an Argentinian Restaurant managed by the well-known brand El Porteño.

Palazzo Roma – Your Aristocratic home in Rome
Set to open in the third quarter of 2022, the luxury hotel allows guests to become part of the Roman noblesse experience. Located on Via del Corso, one of the main historical streets of the city centre, the property will reflect heritage, history, and elegance in every detail. Following nearly two years of renovation, the hotel will feature Versailles teak parquets, wood panelling and marble floors and an eclectic interior design by the architect Panepinto.  The 39 rooms and suites result elegant, refined, and unique.  Tailored installation inspired by Roman music, literature, and art play theatrical games in both private and public rooms. The “Ladies suite” signature suite of the hotel – will stand out for its high ceiling (over 5 meters) and the design across the of 165 sq mt. Additional features will be the music room, the restaurant and private courtyard games.

Claudio comments: “We believe in blending the boundaries between hospitality, intimacy and authenticity, but also in balancing a luxury and yet human personalised service with world class contemporary look and feel that make our property stand out”. Rome – continues Claudio – ‘has been and will be even more in the future – one of the top destinations and we are working to give life to different luxury hospitality experiences to cater distinct needs and Vilon and Maalot are the first steps in this direction.  We plan to be at the forefront of the luxury hospitality sector in Italy delivering exceptional experience and luxury service to our international clientele.’

Newly opened Maalot is the last addition to the group’s portfolio. This luxurious hotel welcomed its first guests in October 2021, and it is the only luxury hotel in the Trevi Fountain’s area. Like other Shedir Collection properties, Maalot has its historical roots. The building initially was home to the famous Italian composer Gaetano Donizetti (1797 – 1848). The hotel’s artistic nature attracts a creative crowd that socialises in this delightful place. This site is unique with its vibrant and cosy atmosphere in the centre of Rome. The hotel has a beautifully designed restaurant named Don Pasquale, where families and friends can enjoy their dinners sitting on an elegant glass terrace. Chef Domenico Boschi is the inspiration behind this spectacular Roman gastronomy. Visitors have a chance to explore the modern interpretation of Roman cuisine with locally outsourced suppliers.

Claudio concludes: "Every Shedir Collection hotel is unique in its way but follows a common goal – to make their guests feel at home with exceptional service and a mindful approach
