Cofton Holidays scoops two major awards for its long-standing commitment to wildlife conservation and the holiday park industry

The sweeping landscape at Cofton Holidays features carefully considered planting, extensive woodland, wildlife-friendly hedges, wildflower zones and even a bug and bee hotel.

Cofton Holidays, the multi award-winning holiday park near Dawlish, South Devon, has received two major accolades that recognise not only its sustained conservation efforts over the past two centuries, but its long-standing commitment to the tourism and hospitality industry.

The family-run business has become one of just a handful of UK businesses to be awarded the Gold David Bellamy Conservation Award for the 20 th year running. This special award recognises Cofton’s sustained activity to protect wildlife and enhance the landscape of the park located amongst the rolling hills of the South Devon countryside.

The sweeping landscape at Cofton Holidays features carefully considered planting, extensive woodland, wildlife-friendly hedges, wildflower zones and even a bug and bee hotel. Plans are already being implemented for the year ahead, including the creation of ‘nature corridors’ which are designed to encourage wildlife to disperse across the whole park.

In addition, Cofton Holidays has also been awarded the prestigious Pearl Long Membership Award from the British Holiday and Home Parks Association (BH&HPA). Having been a member of the Association since 1986, this award recognises Cofton’s commitment to, and support of, the Association during its time as a member.

Helen Scott, Director of Cofton Holidays, commented: “We’re delighted to have received these landmark awards from two such highly respected bodies. At Cofton, we are constantly investing in our landscape and the surrounding environment in which we work in, and we have some exciting plans for 2020. These include the creation of our nature corridors which will encourage the wildlife to disperse across the park.”
