Company name change: Scandinavian Travel brand reflects new direction

The company now specializes in highly customized travel with once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

HINGHAM, M.A – Scandinavian Travel is a tour operating company formerly known as Scandinavian American World Tours. The company offers travel planning services to countries in Scandinavia including Iceland, Norway, Finland, Demark, Sweden, Greenland and the Faroe Islands. Acquired in 2019 by President Tom Casey, Scandinavian American World Tours has been in operation for over 40 years.

Casey is also the founder and owner of Old Sod Travel, a tour company that offers travel planning services in Ireland, England and Scotland. The change for Scandinavian Travel comes at a time when both businesses are regaining momentum after the pandemic, and also marks an integration of brand values across the two.

“We’re not looking to change everything about what Scandinavian American World Tours is and has been,” commented Tom Casey, president and owner. “This isn’t a change where our customers and partners won’t recognize the company anymore. We’re simply evolving into a more narrow niche and focusing our efforts where our strengths lie. It’s a fresh take on a classic brand.”

Much like its sister company Old Sod Travel, Scandinavian Travel has been focused on individual, family and small group trips. The Scandinavian Travel customer is looking for a luxurious experience with opportunities to see and do things they can’t see or do anywhere else. The same goes for food to indulge in and having the best hotels to stay in. Trips with the company will now include exclusively 4- and 5-star hotels, for example.
