The USA, Europe and several fictional locations all claimed a place in the top 10 most dangerous destinations, according to film and television.
Whilst much of the world offers a safe haven to explore, a new study by Bolsover Cruise Club has found that there are certain places a little closer to home that may require you to tread carefully – especially in the run up to Halloween.
Using IMDB data, cruise agent, Bolsover Cruise Club, compiled a list of both real and imaginary locations according to film and TV, to reveal some of the world’s most dangerous destinations.

Both North and South America claimed the crown for the most dangerous locations according to popular culture, with a whole host of horror creations making use of the country as a setting for their onscreen neighbourhoods.
With popular productions such as Narcos, Jurassic Park, The Exorcist, Pulp Fiction, Halloween and IT all taking place within the Americas, they bring with them a variety of onscreen blood thirsty killers, ranging from dinosaurs to drug lords.
Owing to creations such as the Orphanage, Gladiator, Troll Hunter and Chernobyl, Europe also ranked highly within the top 10, whilst places such as the Upside Down from Stranger Things, and Kings Landing from Game of Thrones, ensured fictional locations secured themselves a place on the map.
Bolsover Cruise Club also used survey data to find out the nations thoughts when it came to horror films, especially when it comes to the festivities of Halloween.
The results showed that they are popular with more than 39 million Brits, with the majority of those asked admitted to watching their first scary movie at the age of 12. Scarily, upwards of 1 million Brits watched their first horror film around the age of five.
Despite one in 10 Britons refusing to watch horror films as they dislike being scared, a further tenth enjoys this sensation, watching them in an attempt to scare themselves. More than a third of Brits admit they love the suspense.
