Τhe new Silver Line extension opened with Metrorail service to Dulles International Airport (IAD). The service will take Metro passengers to Dulles airport for the first time. The $3 billion, 11.5-mile Metrorail Silver Line extension adds six Metro stations, including a Dulles International Airport station. The Dulles station opening coincides with the airports 60th anniversary this week (November 17). Dulles International Airport welcomes domestic and international visitors from 130 nonstop destinations via 34 airlines. The ride from Dulles International Airport to Metro Center in downtown Washington, DC will take approximately 54 minutes.
