One of the many perks for owners of Disney Vacation Club is the ability to trade DVC points on a vacation exchange network. For over eleven years, DVC’s affiliated exchange platform has been RCI. However, beginning January 1st, 2022, DVC will switch to Interval International as its vacation exchange network.
What DVC switching to II means for current RCI members
Starting on January 1st, 2022, Disney Vacation Club will be an affiliate of the vacation exchange network Interval International. For eleven years now, Disney Vacation Club owners were able to sign up for a membership with RCI to trade their DVC points for reservations at other resorts within the RCI network, including Hilton, Wyndham, and Westgate properties.
From now on, Disney Vacation Club will only be affiliated with Interval International, and current owners that are members of RCI will not be able to make exchanges on RCI. However, if current members have already confirmed reservations or DVC points deposited on RCI, both will be honored through 2023.
What is vacation exchange?
Vacation exchange refers to trading companies such as RCI or Interval International that allow timeshare owners to trade their timeshare points or weeks for reservations at other affiliated resorts. Most brands are affiliates with one of the two main exchange networks.

Interval International is one of the largest vacation exchange companies in the world. Timeshare owners of affiliated resorts or brands can sign up for a membership with II to trade their points or weeks at over 3,000 other properties around the globe.
DVC members will be able to travel to incredible new resorts now that DVC is affiliated with Interval International. Other affiliate brands on the exchange network include:

How II works for DVC members
Suppose you are an owner of Disney Vacation Club and would like to trade your points for other vacations outside of Disney’s portfolio of resorts. In that case, you can sign up for Interval International. DVC members can deposit their points or request a reservation on the website. Deposit first is for any owners ready to exchange their points immediately and go elsewhere! The other option, Request First, allows members to request the vacation they want before depositing points. That way, if you aren’t sure of your plans yet, you don’t need to give up your points.

Disney Vacation Club owners have easily exchanged their points for other resort reservations for years now on RCI.
