NEW YORK, NY – Renowned hotel brand and management company Dream Hotel Group announce the promotion of Robert R. Mallia to Vice President of Architecture and Construction. Mallia has been with the company for 10 years.

As Vice President, Mallia will oversee architecture and construction planning efforts for all Dream Hotel Group properties worldwide. His key areas of focus include pre-construction drawings, programming review, building codes, zoning analysis, monitoring construction and renovation budgets, schedules, procurement, overseas sourcing and quality control, construction contract review and, ultimately, the successful handover of the project at hand.

Robert brings a fresh, global perspective to architecture and development at Dream Hotel Group,” said Jay Stein, Chief Executive Officer, Dream Hotel Group. “We are rapidly expanding our global portfolio with five new locations set to open over the next 18 months, and Robert’s tactical and strategic approach will help us meet, if not exceed, the growing demand for our company and its brands.”

Working in hospitality has always been one of my greatest passions, and I am excited to play such a vital role in the continued growth and success of one of the world’s most recognized independent lifestyle hotel brands today,” added Robert R. Mallia, Vice President of Architecture and Construction, Dream Hotel Group.

Mallia joined Dream Hotel Group as Architectural Director in 2011, bringing a depth of knowledge and global expertise to the company. Prior to Dream, he was engaged at Manhattan-based architectural firm WQB Architecture PLLC, working on numerous hospitality and residential projects around the world, including the first location of Dream Hotel Group’s five-star luxury brand, the Thierry W. Despont-led reimagining of the Lambs Club into The Chatwal New York, with Mallia as Architectural Project Manager.

Having lived and worked in Australia, Malta, Belgium, and the United States, Mallia approaches his work with a global view that enhances his ability to adopt and grasp the circumstances and complexities of projects both within and outside of the company’s core domestic market. During his 10-year tenure with Dream Hotel Group, he has overseen multiple construction and renovation projects at all of the group’s New York properties, as well as the pre-construction stages on hotels further afield in California, Texas and Belgium.

Robert R. Mallia holds bachelor’s degrees in Architecture and Civil Engineering from his native Malta and a master’s degree in Construction Management from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. He is a registered architect in the State of New York and a member of the American Institute of Architects.

With 16 hotels open today and another 20 locations in various stages of development, Dream Hotel Group remains one of the fastest growing independent lifestyle hotel companies in the world.

Announcement signals another exciting milestone in the continued growth and evolution of the company and its portfolio of brands: Dream Hotels, Unscripted Hotels, The Chatwal and new By Dream Hotel Group collection.
