Christmas holiday starts new summer season
In the travel industry in Holland they mention 'third Christmas day'. During Christmas holidays with family and friends, the holiday plans for next summer are often discussed. Families with children want have choice and are linked to the busy school holidays. From 27 December, visitor numbers will increase online and more holidays will be booked. In the second week of January, the largest travel event in The Netherlands takes place annually in the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht. "Vakantiebeurs" attracts more than 100,000 traveling-enthusiastic Dutch people and also Griekenland.net takes part for the fourth year in a row.

In January there is still have plenty of choice in apartments, seaside resorts and hotels and more than 13% of the participants choose this month as their favorite to make the holiday the Greek islands or mainland

The transparent travel market makes people more and more compose and book their own package travel. Booking a plane ticket is not that difficult anymore and there is not only one airline flying to a Greek holiday destination. The range of apartments, hotels and villas in Greece is large and you can also combine a stay in the north and south of a Greek island. No more in a coach first along five to ten other hotels, before you arrive at your own accommodation. Just have a rental car ready at the Greek airport and drive to your holiday spot.
