European ski resorts for winter lovers

Let’s take a look at some of the top options for your winter holidays in Europe this winter.

In winter, things are a little different when it comes to your vacation. Many people avoid winter vacations because they think they require more research and planning. This means that the choices you make will be based more on the quality of your accommodation facilities, activities and the overall holiday experience. This is partly true, but things get even easier when you know how to make the right choice. So one of the choices you can make is to choose for your destination one of the best winter resorts in Europe that we will present to you below. Let's take a look at some of the top options for your winter holidays in Europe this winter:

Megève, France
Megève is still one of the communities in France in the southeastern Alps. This town is well known for its Mont-Blanc winter resort. It is also the first ski resort in France built in 1920 as an alternative to Saint-Moritz, Switzerland. It is said to have once been the most popular resort for the aristocrats of the time.

The ski resort to which you have access from this French town is the 'Domaine Évasion Montblanc', which owns all the wider areas of Megève (Mont d'Arbois, L'Alpette, Rochebrune and Côte 2000), Saint-Gervais- les-Bains, Combloux, La Giettaz, Les Contamines-Montjoie and Saint-Nicolas-de-Véroce, covering approximately 445 km of land. The ski resort has 116 ski lifts, which transport its visitors to 217 slopes and various difficulty levels.

Gstaad, Switzerland
According to its tourism, Gstaad is Switzerland's most famous skiing village who choose to spend their winter holidays in the Swiss Alps. It is also one of the most expensive winter resorts in the world, as it is one of the top destinations for celebrities such as costume designer Valentino, Madonna and George Clooney.

Gstaad is located in the heart of the Bernese Oberland, surrounded by dreamy slopes for ski and snowboard enthusiasts. Gstaad Palace, however, is considered the top ski resort in Switzerland and was named the best in the world for 2011. With slopes covering 250 km and 62 different ski lifts, visitors to the area definitely have time in their program for a bit of fun après ski.

Courchevel, France
Courchevel, many years ago, was a beautiful, picturesque village in Savoy in eastern France. A village perched in the French Alps, with few but select visitors. Today "Courchevel 1850" (1850 is the altitude) is the top destination for winter sports enthusiasts. The ski resort with spectacular slopes, five-star hotels, Michelin-starred restaurants and some of the most iconic jewellery stores and exclusive boutiques for designer shopping is a near-dream for ordinary mortals. It is considered one of the most expensive ski resorts in the world.

Perhaps not even Brigitte Bardot, the French star who, according to those who know people and things, "placed" Courchevel on the map of cosmopolitan destinations in the 1960s, expected her truly magnificent development. But Courchevel's destination may be of interest to the rich and famous, not just to them. You can also enjoy part of the splendour of the area, enjoying the ski holidays in Courchevel by choosing one of the programs of Erna Low, which will cover for you all the necessary actions of accommodation and additional services so that you can deal only with the essence of your vacation.
