EVA to fly Hello Kitty Jet to San Francisco on October 27, 2019

EVA is incorporating the Hello Kitty Jet service into its 21 weekly nonstop flights from San Francisco to Taipei, Taiwan where, with just one stop, passengers can fly on to every major city in Asia and Mainland China.

EVA Air will introduce its cheerful Hello Kitty Hand-in-Hand Jet into its San Francisco schedule, starting with two flights a week on October 27, 2019. It will fly the specially painted plane on Saturdays and alternate between Tuesdays and Thursdays for the second weekly flight until December 1 when it will increase service to three days a week. EVA is incorporating the Hello Kitty Jet service into its 21 weekly nonstop flights from San Francisco to Taipei, Taiwan where, with just one stop, passengers can fly on to every major city in Asia and Mainland China.

From nose to tail of the colorful Boeing 777-300ER, Hello Kitty and Sanrio friends of different colors, shapes and sizes join hands to invite travel fun and friendship, promising fun flights from take-off to landing. Among the 19 Sanrio Family characters linking hands with Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel are My Melody, Kuromi, Little Twin Stars, Cinnamoroll, Pompom Purin and Bad Badtz-Maru.    

EVA BR07 is scheduled to depart San Francisco International Airport (SFO) at 12:20 pm and arrive at Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) at 5:10 pm the next day (6:10 pm after November 3). Inbound, flight BR08 is scheduled to leave TPE at 10:30 am (11:30 am after November 3) and land in SFO at 6:30 am. Flight time from San Francisco to Taipei is 13 hrs. 50 minutes. From Taipei back to San Francisco, flight time is 11 hours.

Daytime departures and arrivals add to the fun and excitement of the special livery for EVA passengers and others, bringing smiles to young and old alike as the colorful livery comes into sight.  The schedule also offers convenient flight itinerary options. From San Francisco, EVA’s midday flights get passengers into Taipei in late afternoon, in time for dinner or an easy one-stop nighttime connection to Bangkok, Hong Kong, Manila or Saigon. Return flights arrive in San Francisco in the early morning, giving passengers the full day to enjoy Bay-area attractions, schedule meetings and work or travel onward to destinations throughout the United States and Canada.

The delight of flying on EVA’s Hello Kitty and Sanrio Family Jets begins at airport check-in with specially designed boarding passes and baggage stickers. Onboard, the cabin crews wear Hello Kitty Jet aprons and passengers use service items decorated with the irresistible characters. Service items include Hello Kitty headrest covers, pillows, tissue, hand cream, hand-washing liquid, napkins, paper cups, utensils and snack packaging. EVA also offers Hello Kitty and Sanrio Family duty-free items through the EVA Sky Shop online and inflight.

EVA flies seven of the specially painted aircraft on routes within Asia, in addition to its long-haul service to Chicago and, starting in October, San Francisco. The airline’s other Hello Kitty planes are the Shining Star, Joyful Dream, Celebration Flight and Friendship Bows. EVA’s Sanrio Family aircraft are the gudetama Comfort Flight and Bad Badtz-Maru Travel Fun planes.

EVA launched the Hello Kitty Hand-in-Hand Jet on the Los Angeles – Taipei route in September 2013, took it to Paris in October 2014 and flew it back to Los Angeles in March 2018.
