Pennsylvania 6
It’s not often you can call a sports bar fancy, but that’s what you will find if you venture to Pennsylvania 6, which is just a short walk from MSG.

The gastropub has something on the menu for everyone from pork banh mi, seafood mac and cheese, lobster rolls, and even prime rib French dip.

The menu may make you forget you are in a sports bar, but the flat-screen TVs that line the walls will remind you are in the middle of the action, even if you are a few blocks away.

Jack Demsey’s
This Irish bar is a stone’s throw away from Madison Square Garden but is home to every UFC match.  And on top of that, Jack Demsey’s serves Irish Breakfast all day.

It’s serious about its sports.  It has 12 flat-screen TVs throughout, including a mammoth 96-inch flat-screen, among others.  Come March Madness expect to see a sea of blue, it’s a major University of Kentucky hot spot. Sports fans from Massachusetts can also get away with rooting for the Red Sox in this Irish bar hot spot.

And if Irish food isn’t your fare, rest assured there are more traditional American options such as cheeseburgers, chicken fingers, and salads.

Slattery’s Midtown
Instead of dealing with the agita of going to watch the Rangers, come here where every game is broadcast.  Or if you are a transplanted Miami Dolphins fan this is definitely the place for you. No matter what the sporting event, Slattery’s Midtown promises to have you covered.

Even before COVID turned all businesses on their heads, Slattery’s boasted of outdoor televisions so fans could see the big games without being crowded inside.

In addition to your typical sports pub offerings such as mozzarella sticks and quesadillas, you can also score Maryland-style crab cakes and Nova (Scotia) smoked salmon.

Legends
Legends has more than 30 “supporter groups” of fans it welcomes, and one the biggest is LSU.  This means, at least until passions calm down a bit, perhaps Notre Dame fans should steer clear.

The menu offers Irish and Italian fare, as well as traditional bar staples such as tater tots and beer-fried cheese sticks.

In an effort to comply with COVID rules and make staff and guests most comfortable, Legends also offers outdoor seating.

Mustang Harry’s
Fun fact:  Mustang Harry’s has the longest sports bar in New York City.
If random facts aren’t your thing, the food and beer selection likely will be. Whether you are a lamb lollipops kind of gal, or a bacon bits and southern fried chicken sandwich kind of guy, this place has you covered.

The large venue tends to be popular with local alumni clubs – it usually hosts Michigan State but has an open-door policy and a large second floor so anyone(team) is welcome.  And with 99 feet from start to finish at the bar, there is plenty of space to spread out at Mustang Harry’s.
