Five destinations to add to your bucket list immediately

Whether your ultimate wish is to see the Northern Lights, or bask on the most beautiful beach, here are five destinations we strongly recommend you add to your bucket list.

Most of us have a bucket list of goals we wish to complete before we die, and for many, holidays will make up a large percentage of that.

Whether your ultimate wish is to see the Northern Lights, or bask on the most beautiful beach, here are five destinations we strongly recommend you add to your bucket list.

1. The Taj Mahal, India
The Taj Mahal is one of the seven wonders of the world, and stretches its splendid frame towards the sky for 7-8 million tourists every year.

Built in the mid-1600s, this colossal and beautiful building took 17 years to complete, and is often featured in picturesque portraits alongside sunsets and misty mornings in all its splendour.

2. Finolhu Resort, The Maldives
The Maldives is an extremely common bucket list destination for holiday-goers due to the spectacular white sandy beaches, crystal clear blue seawater and huge array of marine life.

The Finolhu resort on Baa Atoll in the Maldives is a wonderfully magnificent place to relax. An eco-friendly resort, the entire island has been declared as a biosphere reserve, so it’s perfect for animal lovers.

Relax in a luxury villa with a horizon full of sea and an ice cold drink, and explore the various activities and excursions available.

3. Reykjavik, Iceland
Iceland, although very cold, is an unexpected wonderland of a luxury holiday.

Many are drawn to the Northern hemisphere to view the incredible Northern Lights, a chemical phenomenon caused by electrically charged particles from the sun entering the atmosphere at high speed.

While in Reykjavik, you can visit a geothermal spa, where water is heated by active volcanic magma, and taste some traditional Icelandic food like Hakarl (fermented shark), Skyr (yogurt), and Pylsa (Icelandic hot dog).

There are too many things to list when it comes to Iceland. You probably have your own Iceland bucket list so it makes sense to hire a campervan to be in control of your trip. Be free and spontaneous if you just want to take it easy one day. And if you are set on your luxury-holiday plans, a premium campervan like this can deliver.

4. Cancun, Mexico
Mexico is the home of excellent food and tequila, but Cancun is a remarkably popular tourist destination for its hot sandy beaches and clear blue sea.

If you visit in September, you can experience the legendary Independence Day celebrations that date back to Mexico’s liberation from Spain in the 1800s. Cancun celebrates the day with parades, fireworks, and family gatherings that include feasts of food.

5. New York City, United States of America
New York City, known as ‘The Big Apple’ is famed for its iconic skyline and historic buildings like the Empire State Building and Rockefeller Center.

If you want to trek the tourist trail, you might want to add the Statue of Liberty to your itinerary, or stop to see an award-winning Broadway show on your travels.

Don’t forget to have a gander through Times Square, or visit Madison Square Gardens, and sample some of the city’s finest burgers and American cuisine.

For sunny days, Central Park is a fantastic place to enjoy a picnic, or rent a row boat or gondola for an excursion across the lake.
