Five things you must do on your first visit to Las Vegas

If you are going to Las Vegas, you might want to head straight for a casino.

  • High Roller Ferris Wheel – this observation wheel is the highest in the world, reaching 550 feet above the Strip. It isn’t the only way to see the sights from the air in Vegas, but it is a great experience.

3. Catch a show
Entertainment is a major part of the Las Vegas experience, and you can choose to watch the greatest shows in Las Vegas such as a famous Broadway show or catch up on the latest tours from singers and other artists as well as variety performances. Some essential things to see include:

  • Cirque du Soleil – This death-defying show company runs several different performances across Vegas, usually in one of the big casino hotels. Famous for stunts and jaw dropping circus acts, Vegas is their spiritual home.
  • Blue Man Group – For the music lovers, Blue Man Group combines exciting drumming with physical comedy and detailed stories told without words.
  • Absinthe – Sin City is the place for a raunchy show, and Absinthe is the variety show to end all shows. Raunchy and eye-opening, it isn’t for the faint hearted.

4. Food
Everywhere you look on the Strip and beyond there are fabulous restaurants – and you are spoiled for choice when it comes to different cuisine. Some of the best restaurants are sumptuously decorated and offer Michelin star quality food, while others focus on a specific theme for a fun and exciting experience.

5. Relaxation
While it is tempting to give in to the excitement and fun in Vegas, taking some time out to relax will help you get some grounding and prepare for another busy evening. There are plenty of opportunities for relaxation in Vegas, and some of them are free, too!

  • Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens – thousands of plants and flowers arranged in seasonal displays are a hidden gem in the grounds of the Bellagio casino and hotel.
  • Flamingo Wildlife Habitat – 15 acres of tropical oasis is home to a huge array of exotic animals like parrots, flamingos, turtles, and Koi carp, free to visit and surprisingly peaceful.
