Forest Holidays announces new opening in Brecon Beacons National Park later this year

Located in Garwnant, in the Brecon Beacons National Park in South Wales, it will be Forest Holidays’ 2nd Welsh location and 12th in the UK. 40 eco-sensitive cabins will offer the chance to stay overnight in Garwnant for the very first time. Located within 400 acres of woodland and designed to integrate into the forest environment, keeping open access for wildlife, local communities and visitors.

Forest Holidays has announced its newest location due to open in late 2022. It will see 40 eco-sensitive cabins open for overnight stays in the Brecon Beacons National Park amidst 400 acres of woodland at the southern gateway, Garwnant.

This will be the company’s 12th UK location and 2nd in Wales, the first one having opened in Snowdonia National Park in 2018. Garwnant will be Forest Holidays 6th location set within a National Park and has been carefully designed to integrate with the natural environment. Work on the location will begin this month.

The 40 eco-sensitive timber cabins are designed to allow guests to immerse themselves in nature and connect with the natural world with large decked outside spaces.

There will be a choice of accommodation from stylish Golden Oak Hideaway cabins made for two to spacious Golden Oak Treehouses which sleep up to 10 guests as well as a number of White Willow Premium cabins, a new offering from Forest Holidays which launched last year at Delamere Forest.  The White Willow Premium cabins offer a number of additional features including outdoor kitchens complete with pizza oven, barbecue, and fridge.

This opening represents a multi-million-pound investment including internal upgrades to the existing Visitor Centre and cafe as well as a new shop, brand new bike hire facilities and outdoor activities and experiences for day visitors and those staying overnight. The new location will create local year-round jobs and become a significant new addition to South Wales growing tourism economy.

The new cabin location and facilities for day visitors will bring economic benefits to South Wales and enhancements to the forest environment as well as offering visitors to the area a new and unique overnight experience in Garwnant.

Visitors and guests will soon be able to explore the many forest trails on two wheels and uncover animal tracks, build dens, search for mini beasts and learn all about the forest with the new Forest Ranger experiences being introduced.

Forest Holidays champions sustainable tourism, offering an unpackaged experience which encourages guests to visit local attractions, explore the surrounding areas and eat, drink and shop locally during their stay.
