Fuel releases e-book on current leisure travel trends

Newly released e-book delves into the most critical data uncovered by Fuel’s annual study, which analyzes the evolving booking behavior of today’s leisure travelers.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC – Fuel, the premier software provider and digital agency for the hotel industry, has unveiled a new e-book based on the top 10 takeaways from the company's annual leisure travel trends study. The e-book, entitled "Inside the Mind of Today's Leisure Traveler: How Hoteliers Can Maximize Revenue by Tuning Into the Habits and Preferences of Today's Leisure Guests," condenses the most pressing elements of the leisure travel experience into 10 sections built upon insight and data collected by Fuel during its much anticipated annual Leisure Travel Study.

The study, which was first made available at this year's HITEC event in Minneapolis, took a deep dive into the evolving leisure travel market, creating a profile of the current leisure traveler using information from over 2,000 respondents and examining how they book their hotel stays. The study examined traveler behavior from the inception of their desire to travel all the way to how they interact with their chosen hotels before, during and after their stay. It also tracks key metrics and indicates year-over-year changes in guest booking preferences and behaviors.

Fuel's new e-book provides key insight into traveler trends such as:
Booking engine preference
Important elements of a hospitality website
Growing distrust impacting online reviews
Social media pitfalls
Technology innovations guests are asking for

"Leisure travel remains one of the fastest-growing markets in hospitality, with an estimated $1.1 trillion spent by leisure travelers in the U.S. during 2018," said Stuart Butler, COO for Fuel. "By better understanding the needs motivating this important and highly profitable segment of the travel market, hoteliers will be able to make better investment decisions for the future to better deliver the experience these guests desire."
