Greyhound expands service in New York

Company offers customers more travel options by adding new route from Albany to New York’s George Washington Bridge Bus Station.

DALLAS – Greyhound, the largest provider of intercity bus transportation in North America, announced it has expanded operations from the George Washington Bridge Bus Station (GWBBS) located in New York, NY, to Albany, NY. Customers throughout the Northeast, and ultimately across our network, can choose the GWBBS as an alternative hub in New York City to the Port Authority Bus Station, virtually bypassing Manhattan. In addition to connecting New England to the Mid Atlantic region, the GWBBS now adds Albany and Upstate New York to the route with two round-trip schedules daily.

"Greyhound has a strong presence in the Northeast and our GWBBS location has proven to be convenient for customers," said Andy Kaplinsky, chief commercial officer, Greyhound Lines, Inc. "Our decision to increase travel options by adding our new Albany connection was an easy one, as we wanted to respond to the growing demand from our customers and the communities around the GWBBS to increase their options to explore across the Northeast."

From 34 Hamilton St. in Albany, Greyhound provides easy access to the northern end of New York City as well as direct service to Newark and Philadelphia. Customers also have convenient connections at GWBBS to various destinations such as Washington, D.C.; Baltimore; New Haven, Hartford, Springfield, Worcester and Boston. Travelers can simply show and go with Greyhound's e-Ticketing feature, and once onboard, they can enjoy the comfort of our modern buses with free Wi-Fi, power outlets, reclining leather seats and extra legroom. In addition, our new Northeast buses are equipped with an on-board entertainment system that enables customers to enjoy movies, television shows, games, internet access, and news reports – all completely free from their own Wi-Fi enabled devices including laptops, tablets and smartphones.
