Havana Cabana at Key West Hotel appoints new General Manager

With more than 20 years of hospitality experience, Moore comes to Havana Cabana from Hilton Garden Inn in Key West, where he worked as the hotel manager.

KEY WEST, FLA.  – The Havana Cabana at Key West Hotel announced the appointment of James E. Moore III as general manager of the 106-room, boutique waterfront property in Key West (3420 North Roosevelt Boulevard). Moore will oversee the hiring and training of new staff and day-to-day operations, as well as sales and administration of the resort.

With more than 20 years of hospitality experience, Moore comes to Havana Cabana from Hilton Garden Inn in Key West, where he worked as the hotel manager. He began his career in the culinary world as assistant general manager of Nordstrom restaurants in Freehold, New Jersey, later transitioning into the retail industry as general manager of King of Prussia, one of the largest shopping malls in the United States. Moore moved into hospitality management working for InterContinental Hotel Group at the Holiday Inn Historic District in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as restaurant manager and then director of food and beverage. During his time with Hilton Hotels, he gained significant experience and expertise with the DoubleTree, Embassy Suites and Hampton brands. Moore graduated from Johnson & Wales University with a degree in Culinary Arts and Hotel & Lodging Management in Providence, Rhode Island.

Conveniently located on the waterfront of US1, the hotel is just three miles from historic Old Town Key West’s many attractions, restaurants, and shops. Known for its “Duval Street starts here” slogan, the hotel features the largest pool in Key West, complemented by the finest Mojito bar on the island, with a menu of 25 crafted Cuban-inspired Mojitos. At the hotel’s Floridita “Food Truck,” guests can try their award-winning Cuban sandwich and other authentic dishes celebrating the island’s Cuban-Conch heritage.
