Hostmark Hospitality names Tonya Scott Pheasant Run Resort General Manager

Tonya Scott was previously general manager of the Hotel Burnham in Chicago, Illinois, which was reflagged the Alise Chicago during her time at the property.

 

CHICAGO, ILL – Tonya Scott, CHA, has been named general manager of the Pheasant Run Resort, managed by Hostmark Hospitality Group. In her role, Scott oversees the daily operations and sales and marketing of the 293-room resort set among 250 acres overlooking the Fox River Valley in St. Charles, Illinois. The property includes more than 80,000 square feet of indoor event space, as well as a 38,000 square foot Expo Center, an 18-hole championship golf course, five restaurants, a theater, and a comedy club.

Scott was previously general manager of the Hotel Burnham in Chicago, Illinois, which was reflagged the Alise Chicago during her time at the property; the Hotel Zamora in St. Petersburg, Florida, and the Historic Key West Inns, a portfolio of six properties in Key West, Florida. Prior to that, she was assistant general manager of Hotel Monaco in Denver, Colorado, where she successfully managed a multimillion-dollar renovation. Scott had numerous opportunities to share her experience and knowledge with other hotels through various projects and assignments, including the Sky Hotel in Aspen, in Colorado; the Lorien Hotel and Hotel Monaco in Alexandria, Virginia; the Epic Hotel in Miami, Florida, and the Hotel Monaco in Salt Lake City, Utah. She began her career with Kimpton as assistant front office manager at Hotel Burnham before rising to director of rooms. Scott’s first job in the industry was with Hostmark Hospitality at the Holiday Inn City Center.

In her more than 25 years in the industry, Tonya has had a successful and multifaceted career,” said Ron Vlasic, CHA, Hostmark Hospitality Group COO. “During our time together at Kimpton, I was able to see firsthand that she was a strong team leader with a proven track record of developing and retaining employees who are focused on exceeding guest expectations.”

Scott has served as an executive member of the Chicago Loop Alliance, and with the Illinois Hotel & Lodging Association. In 2006, she was nominated for the Illinois Hotel & Lodging Association’s Stars of the Industry Front Office Manager category, and received the ‘Women Making History’ award from the Chicago affiliate of Dress for Success.  Scott partnered with City Colleges of Chicago and became a board member and mentor to students at Kennedy King College and Wasburne Culinary College. Additionally, she organized a clothing and supply drive for Ghana, West Africa, securing donations from Walgreens, Macy’s, and Old Navy.

Scott received a business management degree from of Robert Morris College in Chicago, and holds the designation as a Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA).
