Hotelier Sebastien Mariette return to Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea as Cluster General Manager

Sebastien Mariette started his journey with Kempinski as Resident Manager at Kempinski Hotel Grand Hermitage, Varna, Bulgaria, moving shortly afterwards to Djibouti Palace Kempinski as Executive Assistant Manager.

DEAD SEA, JORDAN – Sebastien Mariette returns to the leading luxury escape of the Dead Sea, Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea, as its Cluster General Manager joining after his most recent post in Egypt with Kempinski as an Area General Manager. Located at the lowest point on earth, the Dead Sea, he will be managing the iconic Kempinski property, which was built as an affectionate tribute to the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, in addition to his supervisory role at Kempinski Hotel Aqaba Red Sea.

S. Mariette is a seasoned hotelier who has been with Kempinski for the last 14 years, where he has demonstrated a dynamic business approach that was certainly reflected in guests experiences and maximised operational profits, as well as in creating a multicultural working environment.                                

Sebastien started his journey with Kempinski as Resident Manager at Kempinski Hotel Grand Hermitage, Varna, Bulgaria, moving shortly afterwards to Djibouti Palace Kempinski as Executive Assistant Manager. In 2010, Sebastien was transferred, as a result of a promotion, to China, where he took over the role of General Manager and successfully opened Kempinski Hotel Huizhou. In 2012, he became General Manager of Kempinski Hotel Wuxi, and, at the same time, he successfully opened and positioned Kempinski Hotel Yixing. In 2014, he returned to the Middle East & Africa Region as General Manager at Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea in Jordan and was then promoted in 2016 to Cluster General Manager for Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea and Kempinski Hotel Aqaba Red Sea. Later in 2018, Sebastien joined Emerald Palace Kempinski & Kempinski Residences Palm Jumeirah as Managing Director, where he opened the outstanding Emerald Palace Kempinski located at the prominent Palm Island in Dubai. In June 2019, he took over the role of Project Director Asia, acting as Managing Director at The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore. Sebastien’s most recent assignment was in Egypt where he was General Manager at Royal Maxim Palace Kempinski & Area General Manager, Egypt.

Sebastien holds a Master’s Degree in International Hospitality Management, passed with distinction, from the University of Toulouse II – Le Mirail, Toulouse, France and a Master of Business Administration in International Hospitality Management from the International Hospitality Management Institute, Paris, France; a joint program of Cornell University USA and ESSEC Business School France.
