How long do I have to wait to travel after hair transplant

Many people think that a hair transplant is a risky process with a very long recovery time. In reality, the entire hair transplant process is safe and quite time-saving.

Hair loss has become a common problem for many people worldwide. However, modern-age science and technology have a solution for almost every problem. For excessive hair fall resulting in baldness, the best solution remains a hair transplant.

Many people think that a hair transplant is a risky process with a very long recovery time. In reality, the entire hair transplant process is safe and quite time-saving.

The best part is the person undergoing this treatment can attend an office or do other chores right from the day of the surgery. It is a minimally invasive surgery that does not restrict the patient from living a regular life.

Even if you have booked a flight from Atlanta to Paris on the date of your surgery, you do not have to cancel the flight. You will be ready to fly immediately after the transplant is over unless advised otherwise by your surgeon.

Therefore, a hair transplant does not prohibit or restrict you from traveling at all. However, you need to take good care of your scalp after the transplant as every surgery leaves the operated area tender. If you follow the care regime mentioned below, a hair transplant will not be a source of any variety of hassle for you.

Consume the medicines regularly
After the surgery, the surgeon will always prescribe you some anti-inflammatory medicines along with a few antibiotics. The operated area is likely to remain tender for a few days. These medicines will help in faster recovery.

Therefore, whether you are traveling or staying at your residence, do not forget to take the medicines prescribed by your surgeon. Skipping the medicines might cause post-operation troubles you will not like to encounter.

Especially when you have your flight from Denver to Paris booked after a few days, taking any chance with the safety measures will be unwise.

Wear the head wrap
Your surgeon will suggest you keep the bandages on for at least another 24 hours after the surgery. If there are no complications, you can travel without any fear, but not without your head wrap. The head wrap ensures the complete safety of the operated scalp area and keeps it from contracting infections. However, you can remove this head wrap after one or two days using scissors to keep the chances of swallowing at bay.

Clean the operated and donor area
Hair transplant involves a process in which the surgeons take out hair strands from one part of the scalp and arrange them in the hair-scarce part. After two days after the surgery, you should clean both areas tenderly and not apply pressure on these parts.

Also, let the hair dry on its own without a towel. Additional care routine includes no alcohol or tobacco consumption and avoiding physical exercises. You should follow the surgeon’s suggestions word-by-word if you have a trip to France the next day.

Traveling after a hair transplant is not a problem if you diligently follow the post-operation care schedules. Follow a reliable guide to travel to France and pack your bags, not bothering about your upcoming hair transplant.
