How to prevent sea sickness during a sail trip

Understanding sea sickness
Experts opine that seasickness happens following an intricate physiological response to motion. It’s an imbalance of data transmitted from the inner ear, eyes and sensory nerves to the brain. Imagine that you are inside a ship’s cabin. While your eyes are unable to view any movement, your inner ear can sense it.

You can still counter seasickness by keeping yourself active and busy while inside the ship.

• Eat something
Mild and light foods work best when you are on a Komodo sailing trip. Some of these include; saltine crackers, pretzels, or plain bread. Don’t go hungry while inside the ship. Try to munch on something but avoid eating too much. If you often suffer from seasickness, try some ginger ale drink. 

Ginger is popularly known for treating motion sickness. You can also get some calming effects from using peppermint. Some people opine that drinking soda or water along with some crackers can be of help. 

• Use an acupressure wristband
Acupressure wrist bands apply pressure to the specific point on your wrist where you normally wear your watch. That way, you can prevent nausea, one of the most common motion sickness symptoms. Acupressure wristbands are readily available in some pharmacies and online stores.

• Avoid anything that can trigger nausea
Nausea is the main indication of seasickness. Anything that can trigger nausea will worsen the signs of seasickness. These triggers include; spicy foods, greasy foods, large meal portions, and acidic foods and fruits. If you are prone to seasickness, you want to avoid alcohol while on a Komodo sailing trip. Try to avoid strong odors as much as possible.
