Hu. Hotel reemerges August 2021

Conde Nast Travelers’ top hotel in the South reopens this August with two new F&B concepts.

MEMPHIS, TENN. – This August, Hu. Hotel, the top-rated hotel in the South, will reopen its doors to visitors in Memphis as will its rooftop bar, Hu. Roof, and casual cafe, Lucy’s. Evoking the irreverent and laid-back nature of its hometown, Hu. Hotel welcomes hip travelers and in-the-know locals looking to envelop themselves in Memphis culture with great music, food, art and plenty of Southern hospitality.

The refreshed 110-room hotel, part of the Aparium Hotel Group portfolio, is located at the corner of Madison Avenue and South Main Street, and stands on the banks of the mighty Mississippi River. For spirited and independently minded travelers seeking a local vibe in a space to eat, drink, work and play, Hu. Hotel offers a genuine reflection of Memphis, a City rich in history and soul.

“We are excited to welcome guests back to the Hu. Hotel this August,” said Joe White, the hotel’s General Manager. “The closure caused by the pandemic allowed us the opportunity to reinvest in the hotel and deliver stunning new public spaces and food and beverage venues.”

Lucy’s cafe is a “come as you are” all-day café experience serving as a community gathering place. In addition to serving coffee from Frothy Monkey, the casual and upbeat restaurant features curated wines by the glass, classic cocktails, baked goods and small bites during its breakfast, lunch and dinner services. Lucy’s will feature live music in its lounge throughout the week.

Soaring high above Memphis, the reimagined Hu. Roof is a top-of-market rooftop bar serving up eclectic yet classic, frozen and tropical cocktails alongside globally-inspired shared plates. Guests are welcomed by a custom mural by Memphis-based artist Brandon Marshall (@nosey42) before embarking on the best sunset views in Memphis.  Every weekend, Hu. Roof offers a specialty Sunday brunch party with bottomless champagne, passed brunch items and live DJs. Guests can expect collaborations and events with local Memphis brands including Wiseacre Brewing and Old Dominick Distillery.

The hotel was inspired by the spirit of Memphis and named after one of its legendary citizens, Hugh “Hu.” Lawson White Brinkley. The 110 rooms at Hu. Hotel boast 42 suites with views overlooking the Mississippi River. With design details that pay homage to the city’s comfort, ease and charm, Hu. Hotel features a distinct, carefree attitude paired with contemporary touches. Mid-century modern details and artwork showcasing local destinations make the guest rooms an inspired choice for a couple’s boutique getaway or a work trip retreat.

Hu. Hotel is located at 79 Madison Ave, Memphis, TN.
