ibis Styles Bucharest City Center Hotel adopts advanced RFID locks compatible with contactless mobile access

Newly built Romanian hotel implements VingCard Signature RFID door locks and Visionline to maximize guest security and convenience while allowing for seamless upgrade to contactless digital check-in and room access abilities.

ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions has announced the successful implementation of its VingCard Signature RFID door locks alongside the Visionline access management system at the ibis Styles Bucharest City Center. A recently constructed property that serves as a modern urban village within the Romanian capital, ibis Styles Bucharest City Center selected VingCard Signature RFID and Visionline to ensure that guest and staff safety is ensured using the latest security protocol standards. With Signature RFID's future-proof Mobile Access compatibility, property leadership can also seamlessly upgrade their guest services to offer contactless check-in and digital key room access without the need for costly hardware replacement.

As the first newly built Romanian hotel to open since the pandemic, ibis Style Bucharest City Center sought out a security access solution that could provide the highest level of security to boost guest confidence while still ensuring a hassle-free stay experience. With the adoption of VingCard Signature RFID and its advanced data encryption abilities, hotel guests can be assured that only authorized individuals are able to gain room access. This includes Signature RFID's anti-keycard cloning functionality that prevents unauthorized keycard duplicates from being created.

With the additional implementation of Visionline, the hotel is further able to maximize security using the platform's integration with Signature RFID to offer real-time security alerts for each lock. Examples include the ability to receive an alert for a wandering intruder attempting to use a keycard on multiple doors, with hotel staff able to instantly deactivate a flagged keycard before a security threat escalates. Employees can also receive an alert for a door that has been left ajar in order to swiftly dispatch personnel to investigate. While enhancing the property's security abilities, Signature RFID and Visionline also work to provide guests with more convenient and faster service. This includes the ability for hotel staff to extend stays without the need for guests to physically visit the front desk in order to receive a new keycard. Employees can also carry out guestroom reassignment requests again without requiring the presence of guests at the front desk, increasing satisfaction while enhancing overall social distancing efforts.

"Guests beginning to return to hotels are placing an even greater priority on their safety while still expecting a seamless stay experience which is exactly why we decided to work with ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions," said Alina Vladulescu, General Manager at Mercure & ibis Styles Bucharest City Center. "The company's advanced security access solutions such as Visionline and Signature RFID not only allow us to meet the latest standards in maintaining both a secure and comfortable environment, but also provide us with the ability to easily conform to new market expectations when it comes to providing contactless and social distancing compatible services."

Engineered as a future proof solution that equips hoteliers with the ability to affordably and effortlessly adapt to evolving industry trends, the presence of VingCard Signature RFID at the property allows for the instant activation of Mobile Access whenever desired. Once activated, Mobile Access can provide guests with the ability to digitally check-in using their own personal devices. This can serve as an alternative to having to wait in line at the front desk and risking exposure to viruses or bacteria by coming into close contact with other guests or staff. As a fully digital solution, Mobile Access also allows guests to use their own devices as a digital key to gain access to guestrooms and other hotel areas, further limiting exposure to germs by reducing interaction with shared surfaces.
