In this regard, authorities from the Air Transport Undersecretariat, as well as representatives of the airline and the Quito airport emphasized the importance of the new air connection.

If everything goes well and we see that the demand is growing, we are ready and we hope to reach a daily flight until the end of the year ”.

Undersecretary of Air Transport, José Luis Aguilar, indicated: “The Government's commitment is to continue working hand in hand with the private sector. Today LATAM shows their trust in our country. Quito and Loja come together ”.

Ramón Miró, president and CEO of Quiport, congratulated LATAM on the start of this flight and added: “LATAM's operation between Quito and Loja is a demonstration of the airline's confidence in the potential of the route that joins two cities with very strong historical and cultural ties”. In addition, he added that “tourism and business will benefit from this new operation. We are working very hard not only to recover the connectivity lost due to the pandemic, but also to find new opportunities for domestic and international routes. On behalf of Quiport, I wish the airline much success in this new operation”.
