Italian Exhibition Group: ViCC, the new name for the Vicenza Convention Centre

The acronym ViCC has become the new brand of Vicenza Convention Centre. IEG confers a stronger identity, both on the national and international panorama, on Vicenza’s revamped convention centre. The new website is already online and meetings are being held today with local stakeholders, event organisers and international buyers.

VICENZA – You have to be recognisable to be recognised. An essential attribute for every congress destination. And the latest news from the communication and marketing office of Italian Exhibition Group is that Vicenza Convention Centre, the area dedicated to meetings and events, located within the city's exhibition centre, has rebranded as ViCC. (new site, work in progress, vicenzaconventioncentre.it).

The acronym makes the venue and its activities more readily identifiable for customers, local stakeholders and citizens. A new brand, coordinated with the rest of the group, which expresses a family feeling consistent with the IEG logo, thanks to the font and colours: the red and green of the Italian flag and the horizontal cut of the letters.

The aim of the new brand is to communicate the business activities and opportunities offered by a modern and functional convention centre, located in a city with a strong historical, artistic and cultural appeal. The message is clear: to consolidate Vicenza's experience as a congress city and to position ViCC as a winning player on the national and international meeting industry scene. An industry which generated a turnover of 14 million euro for IEG in 2017, with 206 events organised between ViCC and Palacongressi di Rimini.

ViCC has 16 rooms of different sizes and can accommodate up to 1,200 people. The largest room, the "Palladio Theatre", holds up to 709 guests, and has dedicated catering and reception areas. The entire setting is made even more appealing by the aesthetic and functional makeover, which highly impressed the board of "Federcongressi" during the site inspection in Vicenza for its annual convention, scheduled in Vicenza in March 2019. The work carried out was in line with investment policy of the structural measures undertaken, which have already generated positive signs of growth. In the first semester of this year, meeting requests have doubled in Vicenza, including the organisation of national events, bringing even greater added value.

In the meantime, to present what's new in ViCC, meetings and appointments are already underway with representatives from the local business and economy sector. Today hotel operators are visiting the convention centre and tomorrow the industrial and business associations. Next week, after a stopover in Rimini, it will be the turn of foreign buyers and PCOs, here to discover the quality and allure of the Vicenza destination.
