Jet Airways commences its third non-stop daily flight between Mumbai and London Heathrow

Only airline to provide 1000+ daily seats and thrice daily connectivity to London Heathrow from Mumbai. Codeshare with Virgin Atlantic and Delta Air Lines to boost onward connectvity with North America over London Heathrow.

MUMBAI – Jet Airways – India’s premier, full-service international airline, is all set to commence its third daily non-stop service between Mumbai and London Heathrow with effect from the forthcoming weekend.

The latest frequency to London Heathrow – 9W 116, will depart on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at 0925 hrs (LT) from Mumbai with an elaborate complement of Premiere and Economy guests on board Jet Airways’ Boeing 777-300 ER – flagship of the airline’s fleet, laid out in a comfortable three-class configuration including its award-winning ‘First Class’ private suites. The flight will arrive in London at 1355 hrs local time.

On its return, flight 9W 115 will depart from London Heathrow at 1555 (LT) and arrive in Mumbai at 0620 hrs (LT), the following day, allowing guests to have a refreshing start to their day.

The addition of the third flight from Mumbai to London Heathrow complements the airline’s existing operations to the English capital from its hubs in Mumbai and Delhi, aboard its flagship B777-300 ER aircraft, that offer a comparatively superior and comfortable flying experience. In fact, Jet Airways will become the only Indian airline to operate thrice daily services between Mumbai – India’s economic capital, and London Heathrow – one of the world’s busiest and best airports.

Aside from enhancing capacity on the highly popular route, the additional service will also expand Jet Airways’ ability to offer its guests greater flexibility and choice, helping create a far superior and well differentiated travel experience for them, in line with the airline’s commitment as part of its Guest First philosophy.

On board, guests can choose from amongst a carefully-curated international cuisine, immerse themselves in cutting-edge entertainment, and experience the best of long-haul travel with 180° lie-flat beds in Premiere and ergonomically-designed seating in Economy, in addition to the First Class suites, an experience only accentuated by the airline’s trademark spirit of Indian hospitality.

Jayaraj Shanmugam, Chief Commercial Officer, Jet Airways said, "Jet Airways is delighted to offer a third non-stop service between Mumbai and London Heathrow, making us the leading airline on this route. Our latest offering will enable us to capitalize on the demand and popularity of this sector, and together with our codeshare partners, allow us to offer convenience and seamless connectivity to travelers to 14 destinations in North America”.

The third frequency enhances onward connectivity over London Heathrow to North America. With partners Delta Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic it will allow Jet Airways to offer guests improved connection times to 14 destinations over London Heathrow to North America including Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, Newark, New York, Philadelphia, Portland, San Francisco, Seattle, Salt Lake City and Washington.

The new flight will also augment Jet Airways’ Cargo capacity on the route by a third, strengthening its presence in both India and the UK market, allowing it to offer the maximum frequency and capacity between Mumbai and London for carriage of commodities such as perishables, flowers, pharmaceuticals, engineering goods, garments & fabrics, foodstuffs, as well as specialized medical equipment, among others. By helping expand connectivity, the flight will promote greater access for cargo, right from London Heathrow to destinations in India, as well as the SAARC and ASEAN regions.

To celebrate the new frequency, the airline will host an elaborate service at the Mumbai airport, including the ceremonial lamp-lighting prior to the flight’s departure. This will be followed by the more formal ribbon-cutting ceremony, post which boarding passes will be handed over to guests.
