NEUISEMBURGH – A change in top management at Kempinski Hotel Frankfurt, Germany: Kai Behrens took over the leadership of the five-star superior hotel on 1 November. The 49-year-old has a long history of experience at Kempinski: He has been working solely for the hotel group since 2007 at destinations all around the world. Most recently, he served as General Manager, responsible for both Kempinski Hotel Adriatic in Croatia and Kempinski Palace Portorož in Slovenia. It is his work at these holiday resorts that helped him set new objectives for Kempinski Hotel Frankfurt: “I want to significantly expand our services in the leisure sector, and create even more options for families in particular,” Behrens explains. He is succeeding Karina Ansos, who is moving to become Hotel Director at Hotel Adlon Kempinski. Frank Fuhrmann, who has been working as Executive Assistant Manager at the hotel since September, is heading up the hotel on an interim basis in October, and will be serving by Behrens’ side.

Kai Behrens has been handling the duties of a general manager for around 12 years. He took over this position for the first time at the former Hotel Bristol Sarajevo in 2010. Since 2012, he had been working in this position exclusively at Kempinski hotels: in Baku in Azerbaijan as well as in Xi’an, Guangzhou, Chongqing and Chengdu in China. In his last position as General Manager at the Kempinski hotels Palace Portorož and Adriatic, he succeeded once again in making both hotels market leaders on the Adriatic coast. Under his leadership, Kempinski Palace Portorož became the leading hotel in Slovenia, and one of the top five Kempinski hotels in Europe.

More packages for families and holidaymakers

His objective for Kempinski Hotel Frankfurt is to expand services in the leisure area. Karina Ansos has already begun the project of making the hotel more attractive to families; Kai Behrens wants to create even more packages reflecting the specific needs of families and holidaymakers. The well-established business segment remains another focus of his work. “Conferences, meetings, weddings and general events are part of Kempinski Hotel Frankfurt’s core business; of course, I want to continue expanding this segment,” Behrens notes. Behrens also wants to continue the development that has advanced the hotel to be an attractive choice for soccer teams in recent years. “I want to stabilise and continue this positive development, which can be attributed wholly to the work of my predecessor and her team.”

Kai Behrens will be supported by Executive Assistant Manager Frank Fuhrmann, who moved to Kempinski Hotel Frankfurt in September. Fuhrmann previously held the same position at Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin, where he was responsible for managing the hotel during the general manager’s absence, among other duties. Before this, he held the same position for three full years at the five-star Swissotel Krasnye Holmy Moscow.
