ECTAA announced that Lodz will be the destination for the next ECTAA semi-annual meeting in June 2019. Lodz is the third largest city of Poland and a prime example of how to successfully reinvigorate a city. The city, dubbed the Polish Manchester, has been famous for its textile industry. Lodz has invested massively in recent years to redesign itself as an up-and-coming destination. Today, Lodz features fine Art Nouveau architecture, fascinating statues and monuments, rich history, numerous museums and the most famous Polish film school. Lodz City appears as the Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2019. The announcement was made at the semi-annual meeting of ECTAA taking place on 6-7 December 2018 in Jerusalem.
ECTAA delegates attending the semi-annual meetings are CEOs and Presidents of national travel agents’ and tour operators’ associations in Europe. Said Pawel Niewiadomski, President of ECTAA: “This meeting is an opportunity for European travel agents to get to know a new destination and empower them to better promote travel to Lodz.”
