Low-cost from Schonefeld with Transavia from Berlin to Munich

Transavia has launched a new direct service from Schonefeld to Munich.

Transavia has launched a new direct service from Schonefeld to Munich. The airline will be operating the route twice daily from Monday to Friday in the morning and the evening. On Saturdays and Sundays the flight leaves once daily in the morning. The flight times during the week are coordinated to the needs of business travellers, and at the weekend they are perfect for spontaneous city breaks. Transavia will be operating the Berlin-Munich service with a B737-800 aircraft with 189 seats. The subsidiary of the Air France/KLM Group also flies daily (except for Saturdays) from SXF to Rotterdam/Den Haag.

“Our new scheduled service between Berlin and Munich has been extremely well received by both business and leisure travellers, and we are very pleased with the development of this route. The demand is confirmation of the strong potential of this route, and the demand for Transavia products and our service. With twelve weekly flights and attractive departure times we offer travellers a wide choice of flight options and flexibility in their travel plans”, says Mattijs ten Brink, Managing Director of Transavia.

“The new low-cost service SXF-MUC fills a gap in the domestic German network, and it also boosts the appeal of the flight schedule at Schonefeld Airport. We wish Transavia very successful flights”, says Karsten Muhlenfeld, Chief Executive Officer of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH.

Munich

The state capital of Bavaria has 1.3 million inhabitants, making it Germany’s third-largest city. It is a key business and finance centre, a trade show and congress location and is one of the cities with the highest standard of living in Germany. Munich’s unique atmosphere, the attractive shopping streets, some of the country’s most important museums, diverse architecture from a wide range of eras and – last but not least – the annual Octoberfest attract business people and millions of tourists every year. In 2015, the city reported 14.1 million overnight stays. Munich Airport is situated roughly 30 kilometres from the city centre and is easily reached via the A 92 motorway. The S-Bahn train lines S1 and S8 connect the airport with the city centre and run every ten minutes.
