MALIBU, CALIF. – Malibu Beach Inn, luxury beachfront hotel located directly on Carbon Beach overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and one of the Leading Hotels of the World, is the most recent property to be accepted into the Virtuoso Hotels & Resorts Program. The Virtuoso network consists of the best luxury travel agencies and preferred partners in the world, and hotels within the collection are top-of-the-line.
After its sale to Mani Brothers Real Estate group in 2015, the property has been transformed both physically, by world renowned designer Waldo Fernandez, and stylistically by Gregory Day, President of Hospitality for Mani Brothers who also serves as the property's General Manager. Fernandez re-envisioned everything including all public areas, the interior and exterior of the onsite restaurant, CBC, and each of the 47 ocean-front guest rooms. Each guest room now offers custom furniture designed by Fernandez along with beautiful European Oak flooring, raw rift White Oak paneling, crisp white walls, contemporary lighting, and soft, luxurious natural fiber fabrics sourced from Bellino in Italy.

The property was accepted into the Leading Hotels of the World in 2017 and is also one of only five hotels in the Los Angeles market to be named to Conde Nast Traveler's 2018 Gold List. The property was included on Conde Nast Traveler's 2017 Hot List, as well as being a recipient of the magazine's 2016 and 2017 Readers Choice Awards, where the property currently serves as the #16 ranked hotel in Southern California.
To qualify as a Virtuoso property, Malibu Beach Inn had to meet a strict criteria and was reviewed on value, accommodations and experiences.
To become part of the Virtuoso Hotels & Resorts Program, minimum qualifications for a property include:
- Five-star of four-star deluxe classification
- A desirable or unique geographic location
- Excellence in both service and quality, maintained at the highest levels, with a proven track record of luxury, attention to detail, and guest recognition
- Daily breakfast; preferential rates, and a value-added, exclusive amenity for Virtuoso travelers
- References from Virtuoso travel advisers who have experienced the property
- Virtuoso's Hotels & Resorts team performing a thorough analysis of market conditions and Virtuoso network needs prior to adding this, or any new property.
