Malta Tourism Authority invests in “Social-First” content with beautiful destinations partnership

Tourism board to equip partners with powerful imagery and videos for millennials, families, city breakers and the LGBTQ community.

NEW YORK, NY — Beautiful Destinations, the media company behind the largest millennial travel community on social media, has partnered with the UK & Ireland Office of the Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) to create social-first content, targeting a mobile, global audience. The team is traveling through the island May 4-13 to capture photos and videos tailored toward young adults, families with teenagers, city breakers and the LGBTQ community. Visually stunning content will be shot with DLSR, drone, mobile and 360 cameras to share unique perspectives of Malta. Following the production, all global MTA offices will incorporate the content throughout their integrated marketing activities and will equip their tour operator and media partners with these new assets for promotional efforts.

“Instagram just broke 700 million users last month, and it’s an imperative time for tourism boards to move social content to the forefront of their marketing conversations,” said Jeremy Jauncey, Founder and CEO, Beautiful Destinations. “My first trip to Malta was two years ago when my brother surprised me with a birthday holiday. The island’s breathtaking  eaches, vibrant nightlife and the historic city of Valletta are some of my favorite memories, and I’m excited for the team to capture these moments during production.”

During production in Malta, Beautiful Destinations will visit famous spots including St. John’s Co-Cathedral, Mdina, Hagar Qim, Comino Golden Bay and the Wield il-Mielah rock arch, to highlight the history, culture, nightlife and destination activities that are available to travelers of different backgrounds. Beautiful Destinations will share special moments during the trip in realtime with their audience of 15 million followers through Facebook Live, Instagram Live and Snapchat. Following the trip, content will roll out this summer by the tourism board across its marketing and PR platforms and Beautiful Destinations’ Instagram and Facebook pages.
